Christian Day School

Preparing a New Generation in the Faith

Mount Olive Christian Day School is a place where the whole child can grow – in mind, in body, and in soul. We offer full-day classes for students in 4-Year-Old Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. All of our students benefit from an excellent, accredited academic curriculum, educators who share their Christian values, small class sizes, a strong parent organization, and lasting friendships.

Academic Excellence

Mount Olive’s faculty has always proudly promoted a superior level of academic excellence in our students. Students leave Mount Olive prepared and ready to succeed in high school. Our school is fully accredited through National Lutheran School Accreditation. We maintain a computer lab, a Chromebook mobile lab, SMARTboards in every classroom, controlled access to the Internet, and a structured technology curriculum. All of our grades have small class sizes, which allows for a personal learning experience. But academic life at Mount Olive isn’t just about pencils and textbooks. Students also have ample opportunities to participate in a wide assortment of extra-curricular activities including sports teams, vocal and bell choirs, and much more.

Supporting Students and Families

With small class sizes our students already benefit from individual attention. However, we also have programs in place to support our students who need extra assistance in academic and social areas. Mount Olive is one of a few Lutheran schools in the area who has a dedicated Resource Room. This allows us to work with a wide variety of students who have academic difficulties including autism, dyslexia, and Asperger’s. Though our teachers and pastors are always able and willing to talk with our students about academic, social, or emotional problems, sometimes that is not enough. We are also blessed to have a counselor on staff who, from a Lutheran Christian perspective, works with our students, families, and school community at large.

We believe that financial considerations shouldn’t limit a family’s opportunity to provide its children with a good, values-based education. Mount Olive offers affordable on-site after-school child care through the YMCA during the school year. We also participate in the Milwaukee Parental Choice and Wisconsin Parental Choice Programs.

Music in Our Day School

Music in our Day School is a vital part of every student’s education at Mount Olive. All students in kindergarten through fifth grade have music class twice a week. These music classes focus on music literacy, hymnody, folk songs from a variety of cultures, playing instruments, and learning about major composers of Western music. Middle school students choose between a number of performance ensembles (School Choir, School Handbells, and School Band) and Music Appreciation each year.
